In 1984, Richard started doing concerts to
benefit local and national charities. He has performed in more than forty
live concerts at El Camino College, The
Norris Theatre, the Hermosa Civic Center, and the James Armstrong Theatre.
The concerts have raised over $250,000 for the Association for Retard
Citizens, The American Cancer Society, The 20-30 Club of Torrance, Kiwanis
International, and Seaside Church and the Xerox
Community Involvement Program.
Over the years, Richard has been joined in these concerts by
many talented and experienced musicians. Richard is pictured at right with
Jack Bone, bass and
Jay Burrid, drums.
The Richard Sherman Trio 26th Concert for the benefit of
Seaside Community Church of Torrance
was a great success, raising over
$10,000. The concert proceeds will benefit 1736 House, Bread for the World, Community's Child (local family services agency), Habitat for Humanity, and many other worthy causes.
Richard is an expert pianist and composer and attracts the
highest caliber musicians to join him. He was joined by
Adam Cohen, a stand-up acoustic
bass player, John Stuart, percussionist, and two vocalists,
Maria Jacobs and three time Grammy award winner
Bili Redd. |
